The Web's Top 10

OkieSurf brings you the Top 10 websites visited by bored people on the web (minus Google), in no significant order.

eBay is one of the long time reigning champs of the internet, first going public in 1998. The site hosts live auctions where bidders and sellers can come together to get what they want, or get rid of what they don't want.

"What other movie was that guy in? You know, the one where he has that thing and was doing that thing?.." Well, I have no idea, but the Internet Movie Database will probably know, or atleast give you a better clue. From foreign films to box office hits, movies are linked to characters who are linked to directors who are linked to Kevin Bacon.

Wikipedia is the worlds first editable online encyclopedia. While this is great, remember that it is not to be used for projects as a citable resource, or believed as 100% fact without further research, because of people who can "update" or "lie" about entries for their own benefit.

Computer nerds... Unite!.... and they do at wired. If it has something to do with technology, these guys already know about it, have discussed it in full, and want you to read the message board/article. Not everything is about technology, though, and these guys understand that, so if you get burned out, check out the listening post, or "Threat Level" posts.
News, straight from the peoples mouths. The more people who "digg it," the higher a news story climbs up on the list, ensuring that the stories people want to see show up. News topics of all types can be found.
If you like celebrities and gossip, a lot, then these people are your friends. Unless you are a celebrity, and hate gossip about yourself. Since 1997, this website has been posting pictures and stories of all caliburs on Hollywood's elite, hoping to catch them on an "off minute." Check out some mugshots or police reports, or new movie buzz.
The acclaimed Internet Archive is a non-profit organization that as of June 25, 2007, receives federal funding through the State of California as being an actually Library. Users are free to browse archived videos, including wartime videos, and public domain works, music, including the live music archive, which features many great (up to date) performances by many great bands. Also stored on their servers are archived images, entire books, and different types of freeware and open source software. The greatest part is that most entries, including all types of media, are fitted with a Creative Commons License to inform the downloader how such content may/may not be used/modified.
This site will help you figure out why your stomach aches, or why that persistent cough comes back when you.... (Not a site for hypochondriacs.) When used for a better understanding, and NOT to replace a doctor's diagnosis, WebMD can explain everything you need to know about different colds and diseases ailing the human body. Check your symptoms online.

Craigslist is an online forum where people can post... well, anything. Everything from classified ads, to stuff for free (sitting on a curb), to discussion forums are posted on this website, and are catered to anyone in the area. The list starts with a city of origin (OKC), and expands into a giant list of posts from people around the city for various reasons.

Essentially, these sites are all exactly the same. If you know of something you want to buy, simply type it in their search engine, and they will find the absolute lowest price available in their list of websites. Why did we put them all here? Cross collaboration, of course. Search all three of them for the same thing, and get the absolute absolute lowest price.
